I have been working at MCS Group since 2006, marking 19 consecutive years of service. During this time, I have worked across seven different companies within the Group, starting as an automation technician and later moving through various roles in health and safety, human resources, training and development, talent management, performance management, business research and development, project management, and business management. These experiences have enabled me to build a broad set of professional, managerial, and leadership skills. 

Throughout my career, I have continuously pursued learning opportunities, both domestically and abroad. Early on, I joined training in the Netherlands to learn from Heineken, which gave me invaluable knowledge and inspiration. Later, I had the chance to study and collaborate with international experts in South Korea and Japan. In addition, the leadership development programs offered through MCS Academy played a key role in shaping my management approach. More importantly, the trust placed in me through new assignments and challenges has been the greatest driver of my growth. For example, I was tasked with establishing a fast-track IT training center within three months, which I successfully launched with the first group of students, despite having limited experience in the field at the time. 

I have always viewed work assignments as opportunities to learn. While working as an automation technician at Tiger Brewery, I also took on occupational health and safety responsibilities, which later expanded to a Group-wide role. This experience in delivering training at all organizational levels helped open the door to becoming a manager at MCS Academy. More recently, I served as the HSE Manager on the Millennium Challenge Corporation-funded Wastewater Conveyance Project, where I helped stabilize the project under challenging circumstances, earning recognition from both the client and my colleagues. 

I believe the key to growth is not avoiding difficult work but embracing it as a chance to develop. Each challenge adds to one’s capability and prepares them for greater responsibilities. What makes MCSI unique is its strong culture of learning, knowledge-sharing, and supporting one another, something that has greatly shaped my professional journey. Energy and infrastructure are among the world’s most pressing challenges, and contributing to solutions in this field gives me tremendous motivation. I am confident that MCS Group has immense potential to continue growing and making a lasting impact.

I value maintaining a healthy balance between work and life. Since my daughter is just over one year old, I sometimes work from home when there’s no one to look after her. When possible, I go to the office in the morning, head home earlier in the afternoon, and continue working from there. For me, what matters most is not the number of hours worked, but the results and productivity I achieve. My supervisor also focuses on performance rather than time spent in the office, and this flexibility allows me to dedicate time to my loved ones while staying motivated and engaged in my work. 

Working from home also gives me the chance to manage my child’s daily needs—feeding, naps, outdoor time—while staying on top of my tasks. Once she’s asleep, I can fully focus on work. This kind of flexibility and understanding extends to my colleagues as well; when urgent tasks arise, they approach them positively, without creating stress or pressure. 

I also have plenty of opportunities to spend quality time with my family on weekends. Our company has many family-friendly practices and policies. For example, events and celebrations are held on weekdays, with full pay, so weekends can truly be devoted to family. There are also paid leave options for life’s unexpected needs—doctor’s visits, school, or official matters—which has been a huge support. Working here has not only benefited me, but has also shown my family and friends what it means to work in a truly flexible and supportive environment. 

Since joining the company, I’ve grown personally and professionally. I’ve learned to prioritize productivity, embrace new skills, and focus on meaningful results. The biggest change for me has been the ability to do work I enjoy without stress, while still having the time I want with my family. I am most proud of the positive and warm atmosphere created by my colleagues. To new employees, I would say this: here, you’ll find a culture and a team that are dedicated to your growth and development. It’s a place where you can enjoy meaningful work, spend time with your family, continue developing yourself, and build positive relationships together.

What I believe best reflects our company’s culture is the ability to work as one team, integrity, and a mindset to solve problems optimally at all levels. Since joining the company, I have developed my teamwork skills, become more responsible, and improved my organizational and leadership abilities. Over this time, my personal and professional growth has been significant. I progressed from a Relay Protection and Automation Engineer to Chief Engineer over seven years, successfully navigating my career development. This experience has taught me that working here is not just about performing a job; it is a valuable environment where you learn something new every day and develop yourself, much like studying at a university of life.
