Project Summary

Murun city, the center of Khuvsgul province, along with surrounding soums, was previously constrained by limited electricity supply. Through this project, households and businesses were connected to a centralized power system, ensuring reliable electricity provision.

The project included the design and construction of a 110 kV overhead transmission line (298.2 km) from Bulgan province, expansion of the Bulgan substation, and design, material procurement, and construction of 110 kV substations in Murun city.

For the first time in Mongolia, the project introduced microprocessor-based digital protection, automatic control systems by SIEMENS, and SF6 gas-insulated switchgear technology, marking a significant advancement in the country’s power sector.

The implementation of this project strengthened infrastructure, revitalized industry, culture, commerce, and service sectors, and created favorable conditions for new investments and overall economic development.
